Glutamine is the most abundant and important single amino
acid found in blood and muscle tissue. Glutamine represents a
huge percentage of the amino acid pool within the muscle, in
fact, a massive 61%. Glutamine is a prime transporter for
driving nitrogen into muscle cells and makes up 35% of all
nitrogen transported into them.
Sci-Mentor agree with researchers who also consider it absolutely
vital that you consume glutamine before and after training , as your glutamine levels fall. It is important to keep a natural post training
catabolic state.
At Sci-Mentor we call this ‘The Training Paradox’. When glutamine
levels fall, a catabolic state exists and the body responds by
robbing glutamine from other muscle groups. This is not ideal for
maintaining balance and growth.
To avoid this deficiency, regular daily supplementation of glutamine
will enable you to combat the catabolic effects that result from
hard training.
